Transport is not a separate Ibiza decision from accommodation. A hotel choice decides whether you can walk to dinner, take a bus to a beach, return from the airport easily or need a car from the minute you land. Start with the base, then choose the transport that makes that base work.
Airport to your base
Use the licensed rank, a pre-agreed transfer or a public bus when it genuinely serves your hotel area. Save the hotel address, not just the resort name. Our official taxi guide covers published fares, licensed-cab identification and late-night options.
Car or no car?
- Ibiza Town / Figueretes
- Usually no: transport, food and a beach are close.
- Santa Eulària
- Helpful but optional for an east-coast-led week.
- Sant Antoni
- Optional: buses and boats cover core west-coast plans.
- Interior / north
- Essential: the best stays and beaches are spread out.
- Playa d'en Bossa
- No for the strip; useful only for wider island plans.
Choose the base around transport
A no-car trip wants Ibiza Town, Santa Eulària or Sant Antoni. A car-first trip opens rural fincas and the north. This is why the where-to-stay guide comes before any rental search: the car is a cost when the hotel base does not need it and a necessity when it does.
Taxi, bus and ferry
Use buses and ferries as planned connections, not last-minute assumptions. Use taxis when luggage, timing, group size or service hours make them sensible. The simplest transport budget is created by sleeping close to the things you will do most often.
The transport plan
Before booking, map airport to hotel, hotel to one beach, hotel to one dinner and hotel to any evening plan. If those movements look complicated, choose another area before the room rate convinces you otherwise.
