Editorial Policy

Independence

No business pays to appear on this site. We do not sell placements, sponsored posts, guest posts, link insertions or "collaborations" that amount to any of those. If a hotel, club, restaurant or tour operator offers a free stay, a comped meal or a press trip in exchange for coverage, we decline. Where a commercial relationship exists — an affiliate programme, for instance — it is disclosed on the page.

First-hand experience

Every place recommended here has been visited in person by the writer, paid for at normal prices, and in most cases visited more than once in different months. Where we have not been somewhere, we do not write about it as though we have. Where a guide is still in fieldwork, the page says so explicitly rather than filling the gap with plausible detail.

Prices and facts

Prices are stated in euros with the month they were verified. We check them against the menu, the car park sign, the operator's own booking page or a phone call — not against another website. Statistics are attributed to their source, and where a widely repeated claim is false, we say so rather than repeat it.

Review cycle

Evergreen guides are re-reviewed at least every six months, and seasonal guides before each season. The "last reviewed" date at the top of a page changes only when a human has actually gone through the page again. We do not touch dates to game freshness signals.

Corrections

If we get something wrong we fix it on the page and, where the error was material, note what changed. Report anything you think is inaccurate via the contact page; we would much rather hear it from you than leave it standing.

Use of AI

Editorial judgement, recommendations, verdicts and prices on this site are human. AI tools are used, where they are used at all, for the same kinds of tasks a spellchecker or a research assistant would do: tidying structure, checking readability, and summarising public documents for a human to verify. No guide is published without a human having been to the places in it.

Advertising

Display advertising appears in fixed slots between sections. It is never placed inside a paragraph, never interrupts reading as a pop-up or interstitial, and never determines what we write about. Advertisers have no advance sight of editorial and no right of reply before publication.

Some links to accommodation, car hire, ferries and experiences are affiliate links. If you book through them we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. They are marked as sponsored links at the code level, disclosed above the first affiliate link on any page that carries them, and never affect what is recommended or in what order. What we will not publish

• Reviews, ratings or testimonials that were not left by real, identifiable people.
• Recommendations for places we have not been.
• Prices we have not checked ourselves.
• Sponsored content presented as editorial.
• Anything that encourages trespass, damage to protected habitat, or unsafe access.
